All In Grocers History

All In Grocers was founded on June 24th, 2022, to solve underrepresented neighborhoods and families of food insecurity and job creation.  All In Grocers was a 7-year journey to build a brand-new ground up $10 million dollar investment in what government agencies call “Food Desert”.

Owners Rodney Anderson and Lance Dunn persevered through all adversity directed towards them, from economic indifference from local lending institutes to covid-19 that shut the world down as we know it.  Mr. Anderson and Mr. Dunn continued to believe in the community they grew up in and the families that live in those neighborhoods.  The name (ALL IN) is what took place when 4 out of state lending institutes and 2 foundations came together and partnered with Anderson and Dunn to make this historic development a reality.  Those partners who names will last forever in the city of Waterloo, Iowa as financial partners are, Illinois Facilities Fund (IFF) Chicago Illinois, Self-Help Credit Union Durham N.C, TruStage Madison Wisconsin, American Family Insurance Institute for Corporate and Social Impact Madison, Wisconsin and National Cooperative Bank, Washington DC and Rochdale Capital, Virgina.

All stories have hometown heroes that step up to walk with those on the journey of success and All In Grocers development had those heroes.  Heroes such as Jason Huff of Huff Contracting, Dan Levi of Levi Architecture, Jamie Wilson of Wilson Restaurant Supplies and Denver Savings Bank, a smaller bank that went the extra miles to keep life in the development.  Speaking of heroes All In Development also had (sheroes), women that not only made a difference in supporting Mr. Anderson and Mr. Dunn but continued every step of the way to the finish line.  Mrs. Nikole Hannah-Jones, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist (WaterlooNative) that located a school for under achieving students, (1619 Freedom School).  The school will have a pilot office inside the Mrs. Willie Mae Wright Community Center.  Mrs. Wright is an icon in the community where the development was built less than 100 yards from her front doorsteps.  Mrs. Wright served on the Waterloo city council and numerous boards and church committees.  Mrs. Wright and Mrs. Hannah-Jones work to solve challenged families and communities goes without question and the partnership with All In Grocers development is a successful way to redevelop neighborhoods and the families that call Waterloo home.

The most common area we have as humans is food. Foods bring all of us together, for conversation, laughter and problem solving.  It was with these words a restaurant that everyone could relate to was born, Grandma’s Hands Restaurant.

As a kid to adult years everyone believed their grandmother was the best cook or cooked a favorite dish they could remember.  No matter your color, creed or religion, Grandma’s Hands will make you remember your favorite food your grandmother made.

“No matter how long success takes it’s better than the failure of not trying to succeed”.  All In Grocers development is a simple brand for success, FOUNDED for community LOCATED in the community SUCCESSFUL because of community.
